It can be taken with or without food and can be taken for years or even life. It should not be stopped or changed without a doctor's guidance. Common side effects include bleeding more easily, low blood pressure, nausea, and skin rash. It is not recommended for those with severe kidney or liver problems, bleeding, or taking other blood clotting medications.
